Whatever is pure, whatever is lovely

About me

My name is Heidi, and I live in Colorado with my husband and two preschool children. We plan to start the homeschooling adventure in July, when my daughter starts Kindergarten.

God has blessed me with a husband who is fairly paranoid concerned about internet security. So I will use pseudonyms for everyone. I will call him Meinmann, because he loves all things German. My daughter, who will turn 5 soon, will be called Cinderella, because that is her favorite princess (that could be just because we’re watching Cinderella right now, but what can you do?). My 3yo son will be called Button Boy, because nothing with electronic buttons is safe around him.

Things I’d like to do someday

Hello, Heidi! I am so glad to find another ‘almost’ homeschooler! My oldest is 4 and we will begin homeschooling in the next couple of years. We also have a 10-month old. Maybe we can share ideas? Come ‘visit’ us at my blog sometime. 🙂

One afternoon, I was in the backyard hanging the laundry when an old, tired-looking dog wandered into the yard. I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home. But when I walked into the house, he followed me, sauntered down the hall and fell asleep in a corner. An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out. The next day he was back. He resumed his position in the hallway and slept for an hour.
This continued for several weeks. Curious, I pinned a note to his collar: “Every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap. ”
The next day he arrived with a different note pinned to his collar: “He lives in a home with ten children – he’s trying to catch up on his sleep.”

I cried from laughter
